Holistic Therapies
Foot Reflexology, an ancient healing practice, works on the principle that specific points on the feet correspond to different organs and systems in the body. By applying gentle pressure to these points, your body’s natural healing processes can be activated, relieving stress, and improving overall wellbeing.
In my treatment room, Reflexology is carried out on a treatment couch. You only need to remove your socks/tights. You might be wondering if it tickles – surprisingly, it generally doesn’t! While everyone is unique, and reactions vary, you are likely to feel relaxed during the treatment and uplifted after.
Reflexology offers valuable support to people suffering from conditions such as headaches, migraine, sinusitis, backache, sciatica, premenstrual syndrome, infertility, digestive disorders, insomnia, and other stress-related disorders. It is suitable for all ages, including babies and children, and a gentle touch can be very soothing.
A popular combination of Swedish massage and Acupressure, deeply relaxing and energising, using natural and organic pre-blended oils. Great to ease tense, aching muscles, relieve stress and improve mobility.
Swedish massage is a well-known, classical massage technique. Gliding massage strokes and kneading, combined with Acupressure provide a wonderful de-stress treatment.
Body massage is carried out on a massage table. You can choose from a full body massage or part body, such as back, neck and shoulders or legs and feet. Some clothing will need to be removed, and towels are used to cover you during treatment, only exposing areas of the body as they are massaged.
Reiki is a simple, natural, and safe form of energy therapy which helps your mind and body to restore balance. Originating in Japan – “Rei” means Universal or Source, and “Ki” is the vital energy that flows through all living things. When Ki is low, we can feel tired, drained, or unwell. If it is high we feel positive, self-assured, and powerful.
In its purity, Reiki needs no tools or equipment, simply the desire and commitment of the therapist to help others for their highest good. It really is available to everyone.
The benefits of Reiki are now widely recognised, and it is wonderful to see Reiki being used in hospitals here in the UK and around the world.
Reiki can be done either hands on or as a distance healing. During a session you can choose to sit or lie down, fully clothed. No pressure or massage is used. It is usual to feel deeply relaxed, with pleasant sensations of warmth, heat or coolness and gentle tingling or pulsating. Many people also see colours or images. Healing may lead to lasting, positive change at the deepest level.
Indian Head Massage is an extremely relaxing seated massage of the upper back, neck, shoulders, scalp, and face, based on ancient Ayurvedic principles. It can relieve tension, headache, eye strain, poor concentration, and sinus issues, and was traditionally used to improve scalp and hair condition.
Seated massage is popular in workplaces as a quick way to de-stress while remaining fully clothed. Many businesses highlight its potential to relieve neck and shoulder tension, boost energy, lift mood and improve staff wellbeing.
A soothing, rejuvenating treatment, using pure, organic skincare products. A wonderful combination of facial massage and stimulation of specific pressure points, with deep cleansing, exfoliation, and nourishment of the skin. It aims to improve your complexion, reduce puffiness, ease eye strain and sinus congestion, while calming your mind and body.
Treatment is carried out on a massage couch, and you may fall asleep or drift into a wonderful floaty state of relaxation.
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as tapping, is a powerful tool that combines cognitive therapy and acupressure. By gently tapping on specific meridian points on the face and body while focusing on unresolved emotional issues, EFT can help to release negative emotions, reduce stress, and support emotional healing. Many people find that EFT helps them to manage anxiety, depression, phobias, and even physical pain, leading to a profound sense of emotional and physical wellbeing.
Sessions for EFT and Hypnotherapy are available in my treatment room on a chair or couch, or remotely via video call, allowing you to relax at home.
Hypnosis is a natural state we often enter unknowingly, like when absorbed in a book or driving on 'auto pilot'. Our mind wanders and can focus selectively while everything else continues without our attention. This natural trance state is a place of amazing creativity and potential change.
Hypnotherapy uses this state for therapeutic purposes, helping you tap into internal resources, creativity, and make positive changes. We often feel stuck with limited ways to handle life challenges due to outdated beliefs. Hypnotherapy offers a choice to challenge these beliefs, leading to changes in feelings and behaviour.
Reiki Training Courses
Do you feel a strong connection to nature and empathise with others? Are people drawn to you for help or comfort? You might be a natural healer. If you are seeking direction in life, consider learning Reiki. Just as we get nutrients from food, we can connect with the life force energy, or Ki around us, for health and wellbeing. Reiki is available to everyone when the time is right for them.
Reiki tuition not only involves passing on knowledge but also a series of attunements or initiations. Each one raises a person’s vibrational rate, opening and aligning their energy centres and connecting to Ki. It’s a bit like opening a door to self-discovery at the first attunement, switching on a light that gets brighter and a connection that gets stronger each time.
I encourage students to practice regular self-healing, ideally daily, as this strengthens the flow of energy, helps you to cope more confidently with daily challenges, and generally experience a sense of well-being. Reiki is great for animals and plants too!
This course introduces the history of Reiki, discusses Universal energy, research, chakras, first degree symbols, hand positions, self-healing techniques, and simple ways to use the energy. You will also participate in a guided meditation, Reiki I attunement and practical session.
The focus of Reiki 1 is self-development and healing, but you will also be able to offer Reiki to friends, family, pets, and plants.
Course booklet and Certificate included.
Price: 1:1 £250 or group of 2-4 people £125 each
This course will review learning from Reiki I, and go on to explore Reiki in more depth, looking at ways to develop intuition and awareness, chakras in more detail, and how to understand symptoms as a form of communication. You will learn second degree symbols, distant healing techniques, to strengthen healing of self and others, and how to offer professional treatments to clients, adhering to code of practice and ethics.
You will also participate in a guided meditation, Reiki II attunement and practical session.
Course booklet and Certificate included
Price: 1:1 £280 or group of 2-4 people £140 each

During a session I may become aware of an imbalance or issue affecting your wellbeing. This is NOT the same as a medical diagnosis – I will sometimes suggest that you seek a diagnosis from a GP. I might also recommend other therapies like physiotherapy if needed.
This will vary from person to person, depending on the reason for therapy and the therapy type. Generally, between three and six sessions on a weekly basis are recommended, especially for chronic conditions. If weekly is not possible, then fortnightly or monthly can still be beneficial, but may take longer to achieve results. Sometimes even one session is enough to reset the mind and body.
Many people opt for monthly maintenance sessions for general wellbeing and stress management.
It is important to wear comfortable clothing, which you can keep on during some of the therapy sessions offered. For Reiki you will be asked to remove shoes, for Reflexology I will need to work on your bare feet. With Indian head massage it can be helpful to wear a vest top or similar, and for body massage it is necessary to remove clothing down to underwear.
After initial consultation which includes filling out a health and lifestyle questionnaire, Reflexology, Reiki and Massage won’t require you to make conversation - many people go into a deeply relaxed, meditative state which can be most beneficial. You can of course talk at any point if you wish to.
This will vary depending on the therapy and the person – you may feel deeply relaxed, and many people sleep well afterwards. Alternatively, you may feel energised and ‘supercharged’!
As you enter ‘healing mode’, you may experience temporary headaches, grogginess, or discomfort. Drink plenty of water and rest, tuning in to what your body needs.
Many health cash plans now cover reflexology treatments by qualified professionals. Some may also cover Reiki and Indian head massage, so check with your insurance company to see which therapies are covered.
